Andrew ''Alex'' C. Curialle

Andrew ''Alex'' C. Curialle, 93, of Newton, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, October 17th, 2022, at Staten Island University Hospital-North. Born on Friday, September 13th, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Peter Curialle and the late Clara Schusstig Curialle. Alex was a Korean War Army Veteran, and after his service became an operating engineer in the construction trade. He was a long time member of the American Legion post in Branchville, New Jersey, and volunteered his time with the Newton Fire Department. In his down time Alex was a master carpenter, always fiddling around the house with odds and ends. He loved gardening, and relished his time fishing and boating. Alex loved a good meal out in a restaurant and was known to be an ''amateur food critic'', frequently voicing his opinion about the meal. More than anything Alex loved to be with family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. To him, there was no greater joy. He was the beloved husband of 70 years to Jean (Hamilton) Curialle. Loving father of Barbara Barakakos, Patricia Auteri, and Peter Curialle. Dear father-in-law of the late Joseph Barakakos, Paul Auteri and Patricia Curialle. Dear brother of the late Frank and Peter Curialle. Cherished grandfather of Kelly Noto, Christine Barakakos-McCarty, George Barakakos, Christopher Auteri, Jillian Auteri, and step-grandfather of Lisa Torres and Jennifer Correa. Adoring great-grandfather of Scarlett Noto, Violette Noto, Juliette Noto, and Nicolette Noto, Avery McCarty, Blake McCarty, and step great-grandfather of Zeppelin Fairechio, PJ Correa, Alyssa Correa, Oliver Torres, and Riley Torres. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 22nd, at St. Ann's Church located at 161 Cromwell Avenue, Staten Island, New York, 10304. Private Cremation will follow. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, October 21, 2022, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., located at 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Memory of Alex may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, in tribute to his grand-daughter Jillian Auteri.
