Antonio Rendo

Antonio Rendo, 95 of Brooklyn passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Addeo Hospice Residence in Staten Island surrounded by his loving family. Born Monday, November 21, 1927, in the beautiful shore town of Pozzallo Sicily, he was the devoted son of the late Giovanni Rendo and the late Giuseppina Rendo. Antonio, born and raised in Sicily, came to America at the age of 21, settling in Brooklyn. Antonio met and married his loving wife Mary here and they raised their beautiful family together. Antonio worked as a longshoreman for many years before his retirement, In his free time, Antonio was devoted to his family, he enjoyed taking cruises, and travelling together. Antonio loved swimming and in quiet times Antonio relished simply reading a book. Antonio truly enjoyed living and learning new things, everyday brought a new opportunity for him. Antonio always looked to the future, never lingering too long in the past, and making sure that everyone knew that there were still good things to come. Dancing and singing were just some of the examples of how Antonio enjoyed each day. Antonio will be forever remembered for his hardworking nature, his generous spirit and his love for his family and friends. Antonio was the beloved husband of 49 years to Mary who passed away in 2003. Loving father of Josephine Monaco and John Rendo. Dearest father-in-law of Christine Rendo and the late Joseph Monaco (2021). Dear brother of Frank and his wife Agnes, and Anna Incorvaia and her husband the late Joseph. Cherished grandfather of Dawn and her husband Michael, Joseph and his wife Kathryne, Michael and his wife Dena, Nicole, Nicholas, Annalisa and husband Chez, Samantha, and Robert. Doting great grandfather of Matthew, Dylan, Joseph, Isabella, Madison, Emma and Nico. Adored uncle to many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be offered at 10:00 AM on Thursday at Holy Name of Jesus Church located at 245 Prospect Park West Brooklyn, New York 11215. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
