Barbara Savino

Barbara Savino, 84 of Bulls Head, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York she was a graduate of New Utrecht High School. She met the love of her life Joseph in the neighborhood and became friendly around the age of 16. They started dating and created a beautiful life together. They were married in 1958. Together they raised their �princess' Christine. Their family moved to Staten Island from Brooklyn in 1967 and settled in Bulls Head. Barbara was a selfless woman who was always doing and giving for her family and friends. She was a doting Nana to her 3 grandchildren Alexandria, Frankie and Joey. She truly lived for her family. She loved spending time with her only daughter Christine and looked forward to their girls day outings and their shopping days. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching her favorite team, The Mets, although her son in law was a Yankee fan. They always looked forward to the time together. She and Joseph took many trips to Atlantic City and cruises over the years. Barbara enjoyed cooking and baking, especially with her grandkids. She could often be found doing crossword puzzles and playing mahjong. Barbara was good at any task you gave her and learned to knit things for the family so they would have a special keepsake made with love by her. She is survived by her devoted and loving daughter Christine Fiorenza and son in law Frank and her three devoted grandchildren Alexandria Vale and Christopher, Frankie and Joey. A piece of her heart left when the love of her life, Joseph, passed in 2016. Now they are reunited and together forever. She will be terribly missed by all who met and loved her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:15 AM on Saturday at St Charles Church located at 200 Penn Ave Staten Island, New York 10306. Interment will be in Moravian Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Thursday, June 22, 2023 and from 1-4 pm and 7- 9 pm on Friday, June 23, 2023, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
