Benny Aliberti

Benny Aliberti, 94, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family. Born on February 14, 1932 on a farm during the Great Depression, Benny's humble beginnings shaped the hardworking, resilient, and compassionate man he became. He was raised in the Canarsie neighborhood of Brooklyn with his six siblings - Saverio, Mary, Anna, John, Frank, and Joseph. The close-knit family values he learned as a child remained with him throughout his life. Benny proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. After returning home, he married the love of his life, Rose. Together they shared 71 wonderful years of marriage, building a home filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories. Benny dedicated 36 years of faithful service to the United States Postal Service, where he earned the respect of his coworkers through his strong work ethic and dependability. His greatest joy was his family. He and Rose lovingly raised their three sons, John, Anthony, and Joseph, and he was an immensely proud grandfather to Joseph, Robert, and Thomas. Family gatherings were among his happiest moments, and he cherished every opportunity to spend time with those he loved. Benny also enjoyed trips to Florida, trying his luck at the casino, and entertaining family and friends with his unforgettable stories. Among the favorites was his legendary ''Moose Mahoney'' story, bringing laughter to everyone who heard it. His gift for storytelling, warm sense of humor, and ability to make every gathering special will be remembered for generations. Benny will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, proud veteran, dedicated postal worker, and loyal friend. His strength, kindness, wisdom, and love of family leave a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Rose; his sons, John, Anthony, and Joseph; his grandchildren, Joseph, Robert, and Thomas; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved siblings, whose memories he carried with him throughout his life. Though he will be deeply missed, Benny's stories, laughter, and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in eternal peace. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, July 20, 2026, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Holy Child Church located at 4747 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will be in St Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
