Constance B. Cowan

Constance B. Cowan, lovingly known as Connie, 89 of Rossville, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, surrounded by her loving family. Born Friday, August 21, 1936 in the lower East side of New York, she was the daughter of the late Leopoldo Ugo Polizzi and the late Angelina (Palumbo) Polizzi. She was the beloved wife of the late Peter Francis Cowan, who passed away in 1995. Loving mother to 6 children, her son Edward, son Philip and daughter-in-law Chrissy, daughter Lisa and late son-in-law Louis, son Peter, daughter Connie and son-in-law Billy, daughter Angela and son-in-law John. Loving grandmother to her grandson Joseph and his wife Colleen, granddaughter Danielle, grandson Vincent and grandson Michael. Loving sister to her late brother Federico (aka Freddy) Polizzi, late sister-in-law Margie and their children, Diana and her husband Mark, and Anthony and his wife Kathy, and all of their beautiful children. Connie was a lifelong fan of the New York Mets. She even named her dog, Mikey, after Mike Piazza. She had a great love of music, some of her favorites being Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, and Luciano Pavarotti. She enjoyed needlepoint in her younger years, and was a fan of mystery and suspense movies on the Lifetime channel, as well as mafia movies like Goodfellas and The Godfather. Her favorite TV shows were Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. If she was on the phone with you, she would say “I gotta go. Jeopardy is on.” She was a dedicated administrative assistant in her working years, and although she always enjoyed her job, she eagerly embraced retirement, where she enjoyed spending time with her family as well as her pets, Mikey the dog, Charlie the bird, and Chloe the cat. A Funeral service will be offered at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 12, 2025, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc. located at 28 Eltingville Blvd Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
