Daniel M. Capone

Daniel M. Capone, 87, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021. He was born in Manhattan and raised in the Sunnyside section of Queens. After he married his beloved wife, the former Frances Romano, they moved to Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, and in 1969 settled in Great Kills. Daniel entered the service in 1956 proudly serving his Country in the U.S. Army as a Private First Class. He served in the 3rd Armored Division in Germany from 1957 to 1958 at which time he was honorably discharged. He was the Vice President and Director of Purchasing for 18 years with Manufacturers Hanover Trust and Chemical Bank until 1992. He then furthered his career as Director of Purchasing for United Cerebral Palsy of NYC, retiring in 2000. Daniel was active in his community as a former real estate broker during the 1980's and he also served on the Great Kills Little League Board of Directors in the mid 1970's. Daniel was also a devout catholic and longtime parishioner of St. Clare Church in Great Kills. He was an avid reader, especially enjoying American History. Above all, family was extremely important to Daniel. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, who loved spending time with his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at St Clare Church located at 110 Nelson Ave Staten Island, New York 10308. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. Daniel was the beloved husband of 59 years to Frances. Loving father to Maria Bamundo (Jeffrey), Daniel Capone, Diane DiBella (Louis) and Vincent Capone (Danielle). Dear brother to Elaine Savarese. Devoted grandfather to Paul, Danielle, Michael, Andrew, Natalie, Jennifer, Marissa, Louis, Christina, Ava, Vincent and Daniel. Please be mindful due to the current State mandate that a mask must be worn at all times in the funeral home and social distancing requirements must be followed during the services. Due to the current Pandemic a strict 30 person in room policy is in effect, as well as a maximum of 100 people permitted in Church. Please adhere to this policy and allow others to pay their respects as well. Floral Arrangements can be purchased from our in house floral designers who work under the most stringent sanitary conditions which include temperature checks, mask wearing, distancing and protective clothing.
