Emma Buonincontri

Emma Buonincontri, 76 of Rossville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at The New Vanderbilt Rehab in Staten Island, New York. Born Saturday, July 13, 1946, in Edinburgh, Scotland, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Gale and the late Mary Ann (Strathearn) Gale. Emma immigrated to the United States with her family in 1962 at the age of 16. Emma worked as an Administrative Assistant for Chicago Title Insurance Company located in New York City for over 35 years and remained employed there until her passing. Emma was a kind soul always putting others' needs before her own. Emma's three children said she was beautiful inside and out. Emma loved to watch her granddaughters having fun, enjoying life, and growing up. On top of being kind Emma was a self proclaimed "neat freak" and was meticulous about keeping a tidy home. Emma also knew her way around the kitchen and her family and friends always raved over her baked ziti and meatballs. Emma was sure to cook up the most delicious and comforting holiday meals that always brought her family and friends together. Emma loved her three granddaughters deerly, her children, and her son in law. Emma loved to venture to Atlantic City on the weekend and play the slots at her favorite casino, The Borgata. Emma loved doing things with her granddaughters and was a strong presence in their upbringing. Emma was the cornerstone and matriarch of her family and she cherished her family above everything. Her children, grandchildren, and late husband were her world. Emma's family always came first and her shining personality spread outwards to her immediate and extended family and friends. Devoted wife of 48 years to the late Louis Buonincontri. Loving mother of Lynda Buonincontri, Debra Buonincontri, and Donna Ciccotto. Dearest mother in law of Louis Ciccotto. Adored sister of the late Arthur John Gale and the late Elizabeth Rose Nisbet. Beloved sister in law to Neil V. Nisbet Sr. and Mary Ann Gale. Cherished grandmother of Deanna Marie Stegman, Clarissa Rose Ciccotto, and Christina Ann Mary Ciccotto. Doting aunt of Tracy & Patrick Ferguson, Sean & Jenny Nisbet, the late Neil V. Nisbet Jr., Nicole & Rodrigo Paris, and Alyssa Lee Gale. Great aunt of John Michael Lotito, Brianna Nicole Paris, Isabella Alexandra Paris, Emily Elizabeth Ferguson, and Jack Ferguson. A funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14th, 2022, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc. located at 28 Eltingville Blvd Staten Island, New York 10312. Arrangements include private cremation. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
