Francesco Macauda

Francesco Macauda, 71 of Annadale, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at home surrounded by the love of his family. Born Wednesday, October 5, 1949 in Sicily, Italy, he was the son of the late Vincenzo Macauda and the late Marietta (DiStefano) Macauda. Francesco, a chef and life long Pizza Maker, worked tirelessly for his family. Francesco retired several times over the years, always finding himself drawn back in from part time to full time again. Francesco enjoyed the simple things in life, Cooking for his family, enjoying a cigarette when relaxing, gardening in the summer and tending to his tomatoes and other vegetables in his backyard garden. Sitting and watching TV with his beloved Rosa, and spoiling his daughters dog Darcy, who was his partner in crime, always waiting for the treats that Francesco would sneak to her. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Francesco was the beloved husband of Rosa (Susino) Macauda. Loving father of Vinny Macauda, Tanya Macauda, Jessica Zito and Michelle Macauda. Dear father in law of Eric Zito. Cherished grandfather of Christopher, Aiden, and Evangeline. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:15 AM on Friday at Our Lady Star of The Sea Church located at 5411 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc.., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. Please be mindful due to the current State mandate that a mask must be worn at all times in the funeral home and social distancing requirements must be followed during the services. Due to the current Pandemic a strict 50 person in room policy is in effect, Please adhere to this policy and allow others to pay their respects as well. Due to the current pandemic circumstances please note: We do not accept deliveries from outside vendors for bakery products, fruit baskets, and floral arrangements until further notice. Floral Arrangements can be purchased from our in house floral designers who work under the most stringent sanitary conditions which include temperature checks, mask wearing, distancing and protective clothing.
