Frank M. Bellotti

Surrounded by his loving family, Frank Michael Bellotti peacefully joined the Lord on January 28, 2025, at the age of 84. He was a native Staten Islander and a proud retired NYPD Police Officer of the 6th Precinct. Frank was a kind, patient, hard working, and loving man. His deep faith and generosity knew no bounds. Frank was a generous supporter of several community organizations which he held dear to his heart. He was a sports enthusiast, a former baseball and football coach, softball player, and an avid fan of the NY Giants, Mets and Rangers. He was a lover of crossword puzzles, enjoyed singing oldies, playing scratch-off tickets, and speaking politics/world news. Frank was the epitome of a 'family man' who cherished his family above all else. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a humble man who valued life's simplest pleasures and when asking him what his perfect day looked like he'd say ''having all of my family home together''. He warmly welcomed anyone into his home and lived to help others. He had a calm and gentle spirit and he leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and resilience . He enjoyed spending time fishing and hunting at his family's cabin in upstate NY, at the beaches in Long Beach Island NJ and Naples Florida, and boating on Lake Wallenpaupack in PA. Frank was a wise mentor and teacher and he loved without any judgement or limits. He never missed an opportunity to attend his grandchildren's events, share life stories and family history, quote his favorite TV shows and movies, and crack an unexpected joke. Even in his quietness, his presence has always been known and felt. He was the first to offer help and the last to expect anything in return. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Frank met the love of his life, Loretta, while working at the former Tucker, Anthony and R.L. Day. The two were inseparable and still laughed, danced, held hands and kissed one another at every chance they got. In their children, they instilled values of family, loyalty and unconditional love and together watched their family grow for three generations. Still madly in love, Frank and Loretta recently celebrated 60 years of marriage in September of 2024. He was a devoted husband to his wife Loretta, a loving father to his children Christine Inserra (Alex), Debbie Barbaria, and Frank Bellotti (Denise), a proud ''Poppy'' to his grandchildren, Christopher (Lisa), Joseph (Shannon), Alexa (Mark), Amanda (Corey), Allison (Nicholas), Sophia, Frankie and Alex as well as his great grandchildren Joseph, Emma, and Alexander. He is also survived by his brother, John. Frank was preceded in heaven by his parents, Mario ''Butchie'' Bellotti and Mary Bellotti, his brother Anthony ''Tony'' Bellotti, and his son-in-law, Alex Inserra. Though he is no longer with us physically, we take comfort in knowing he is reunited with those he loved and missed deeply. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd. (at Eltingville Station), Staten Island, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:45 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025 at St. Clare Church located at 110 Nelson Ave Staten Island, New York 10308. Cremation will follow at Rosehill Crematory, Linden, NJ.
