Harold Scarpone Uncle, Uncle Stinky and Uncle Harry to everyone who knew him was one of the last 325,000 of the 16 million WWII veterans who were still alive today. Uncle died early Tuesday morning surrounded by some of the many people he loved. Uncle was kind, loving, gentle and generous man . He had no children of his own but was a second father to his nieces, nephews, and godchildren as well as everyone he knew. In his career as a social worker, Uncle championed services for anyone under his charge requiring a home, care or assistance. Harold loved being around and helping his family. His passions were Coney Island beach, shopping for deals, and playing cards. He is survived by his nephew Peter Manetti and wife Denise, his nieces Arlene Manetti and Loraine Maniscalco, his godson Eric Gunderson and wife Teresa , and all his great nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 PM on Friday at St Clare Church located at 110 Nelson Ave Staten Island, New York 10308. Interment to follow at Moravian Cemetery. Please be mindful due to the current State mandate that a mask must be worn at all times in the funeral home and social distancing requirements must be followed during the services. Due to the current Pandemic a strict 30 person in room policy is in effect, as well as a maximum of 150 people permitted in Church. Please adhere to this policy and allow others to pay their respects as well. Due to the current pandemic circumstances please note: We do not accept deliveries from outside vendors for bakery products, fruit baskets, and floral arrangements until further notice. Floral Arrangements can be purchased from our in house floral designers who work under the most stringent sanitary conditions which include temperature checks, mask wearing, distancing and protective clothing.
