James M. Massaro

James M. Massaro, 44 passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital after a courageous battle. Born Wednesday, June 28, 1978 in Seminole, Florida, he was the devoted son of Vincent Massaro and Doreen Massaro ( nee McCabe). James, long time MTA Track worker and supervisor, was also a man of many talents. A gifted artist, James shined in his talent for painting and graffiti. He loved music and thrived when WuTang was booming through the speakers. James had the innate ability to make everyone around him laugh, he brought out the smiles in everyone. He loved to cook and according to his wife was quite good at it. James dreamed of the days he could travel to different countries eating fruit right from the trees, living life to the fullest each and everyday, a passion he shared with all who knew him. James was a collector of hot wheel cars, a hobby he relished sharing with his young son Ryen, just two guys and their cars. Although it is hard sometimes to sum up a life in just a few words, James's legacy lives on in his family, his friends and the indelible mark he has left on the world and the lives of all who knew him. As quoted by James' friend, a sentiment shared by all of his friends and family... ''May your soul be elevated to peace, balance, and correct conduct for perpetuity throughout the universe''. He was the beloved husband of Guadalupe ''Lupita'' Romero. Loving father of Ryen Julius Massaro. Cherished brother of Nicholas and Theresa Massaro and his cousin Daniel Caiazzo considered his second brother. Dear brother in law of Brittanie Massaro. Adored uncle of Giavanna, Sophia, Emme, Joseph, Nicholas, Joseph and Spencer. Dearest grandson of Grandma Apple. , and the late Mildred Massaro.Devoted nephew, cousin and friend to all who knew him. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. To keep with tradition for James, the family has requested PLEASE NO FORMAL ATTIRE, no traditional funeral clothing, please keep it simple and comfortable just the way James would have wanted.
