John Gioe, Jr.

John Gioe, a one of a kind, force to be reckoned with, was born March 24, 1956 to John and Josephine Gioe. John grew up in Canarsie, navigating the channels of Brooklyn on his boat alongside his friends. John met Debbie, the love of his life in 1985 and they married almost a year to the day later on June 22, 1986. Together they had Mallory and John and made the move to Staten Island, where he spent the rest of his years. When John wasn't with his family or working at the former Brooklyn Union Gas/ National Grid eventually retiring as a trainer, he enjoyed comedies, dancing, swimming, Trivia, and history, but his truest passion was cars! John was a ''True Car Guy'', with a passion for cars that followed throughout his life. From a 1924 Ford Model T, that he drove in Boardwalk Empire, to a corvette that could drive circle around it, these and every style and make of cars in between. If it had 4 wheels, looked good and sounded even better, John was hooked! John passed on his love of cars to his children with father and son competing side by side for best in show. If there was anything he loved in life more than planes, trains and automobiles, it was his beloved wife, Debbie. Weekends were filled with adventures on road trips together. They loved to cruise, go dancing, dinners out, really anything as long as it was spent together. Second to his wife was spending time with his granddaughter Lizzy and his grandsons John and Julian, whom also inherited his love of cars. He is survived by his beloved wife Debbie, his children Christopher Browne, John N. Gioe, Stephanie Masser and Mallory Strasburg, his sisters Marceline Raimondi, and his cherished grandchildren Katie, Jason, Elizabeth, John Frank, and Julian. A Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Thursday December 5th, 2024 at the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc. located at 28 Eltingville Blvd Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will be in Moravian Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
