Joseph Brutto

Joseph Brutto, 81 passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at Staten Island University Hospital North. Born Tuesday, September 24, 1939 in Bronx, New York, he was the son of the late Anthony Brutto and the late Rose Zinzi Brutto. Joseph a retired NYPD Police Officer and former Federal Marshall devoted his life to his family. After raising his 3 children, Joe relished in his grandchildren and great grandchildren, attending school functions sporting events and any other activity the kids would participate in, He would follow them to the ends of the earth if necessary. He was the devoted husband of 60 years to Patricia (Kohl) Brutto. Loving father of Anthony. Fred, and Roseann Clohessy. Dear father in law of Mark, Christine, and Ted. Adored brother of Marion Aldycki, and Flora Lucchese. Cherished grandfather of Richard, Kristen, Christopher, Theodore, Fred, Cassandra and the late Nicholas. and great grandfather of Madison, Mia, Anthony, Layla, James, Nicki, and Aubrey A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:15 AM on Tuesday at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church located at 5411 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, March 15, 2021, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that Memorial contributions in loving memory of Joseph be made to either the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society PO Box 4072 Pittsfield, MA 01202 or to the American Diabetes Association 2451 Crystal Drive Suite 900 Arlington, VA 22202. Please be mindful due to the current State mandate that a mask must be worn at all times in the funeral home and social distancing requirements must be followed during the services. Due to the current Pandemic a strict 50 person in room policy is in effect, as well as a maximum of 100 people permitted in Church. Please adhere to this policy and allow others to pay their respects as well. Due to the current pandemic circumstances please note: We do not accept deliveries from outside vendors for bakery products, fruit baskets, and floral arrangements until further notice. Floral Arrangements can be purchased from our in house floral designers who work under the most stringent sanitary conditions which include temperature checks, mask wearing, distancing and protective clothing.
