Joseph Regina, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and lifelong New Yorker, passed away leaving behind a legacy rooted in family, hard work, and quiet generosity. Born in the Midwood section of Brooklyn, Joseph later moved to Bath Beach, where he spent muchof his early life before eventually settling in Staten Island. He was the beloved husband of the late Nicoletta Regina, with whom he shared a deep and enduring bond. Together, they built a life centered on family, tradition, and togetherness. Joseph was a proud and loving father to Pamela Molloy, who was married to the late John Molloy, Jr. He was a cherished grandfather to John, Amanda, and Brooke, in whom he took immense pride-especially enjoying watching them play basketball. He was predeceased by his mother, Rose Regina. He was also the brother-in-law of the late Mary and Alfonse Costanzo, Carmen and Betty Barrasso, and Pat Scalgione, and is survived by Lucy Scalgione. Joseph was a loving uncle, great-uncle, and great-great-uncle to many nieces and nephews, as well as a cousin and a loyal friend to many. Family was always at the center of his life, and he embodied what it meant to be a true family man. Joseph began his career with Local 3 of the electrical union and went on to become a successful Electrical Contractor before retiring. Known for his intelligence and resourcefulness, he was the kind of man who could fix anything and preferred to do it himself rather than call in a professional. He had a passion for life's simple pleasures-traveling, enjoying good food, and sipping his favorite gin martinis, stirred, not shaken, up dry with olives. He loved gathering people together and was always ready for a good time. For over 50 years, he and his wife hosted Fourth of July celebrations, where he delighted in lighting fireworks and bringing loved ones together. Joseph created lasting memories with his family, especially taking his nieces and nephews to the beach and on rides at Coney Island's Cyclone. His favorite places included Coney Island, Puerto Rico, Rockaway Beach, Broadway, and Villa Roma-places that reflected his love of fun, culture, and relaxation. He was a man of integrity who spoke his mind and never spoke poorly of others behind their backs. Though not one for overt compliments, he quietly and proudly spoke of his family when they weren't around. Known for his signature look-a button-down shirt with a pocket for his pen and cigarettes-he carried himself with a simple, classic style. Joseph was deeply loved and, in many ways, cared for throughout his life by his mother, his wife, and his daughter. In return, he gave his family unwavering support, wisdom, and love. He lived a full and meaningful life and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday at Holy Child Church located at 4747 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
