Josephine Elboym

On December 22, 2020 Josephine Andolina Elboym (nee Paganica) passed away peacefully in her sleep after a two-year battle with Alzheimer's. Josephine was born in Calabria, Italy in 1922 and came to the US in 1924. She lived in Brooklyn, NY and spent her later years in Delray Beach, FL. Josephine loved to dance, cook, walk and crochet, and made blankets and hats for children in hospitals. She was a loving and caring sister, devoted wife, mother and friend, and was always there to help those in need. Josephine was loved by all for her kindness, gentleness, and peaceful nature. Sometimes called a 'saint', she was a devout Catholic, praying daily, whose faith carried her through many difficult times before going to be with the Lord. Josephine was predeceased by her first husband, Frank Andolina in 1989, and her second husband, Adam Elboym in 2000. She is survived by her 3 children, Ida Gephart of Plano, TX, Joseph Andolina of Staten Island, NY and Vincent Andolina of Landsdale, PA. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. The oldest of 7 children born to the late Ofelia and John Paganica, she is survived by the only remaining sister, Olga Russo of Delray Beach, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, December 28th at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Child Roman Catholic Church in Staten Island which will be streamed for those unable to get to the church, followed by internment at St. Charles cemetery.
