Josephine A. Nappi

Josephine A. Nappi, a native Staten Islander, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Eger Health Care & Rehab. Center. at the age of 93. Born Sunday, June 22, 1930 in Staten Island, she was the daughter of the late Gennaro and Genevieve Pasquale. Josephine was a graduate of McKee Vocational High School. She married the love of her life, John A. Nappi, on June 6, 1948, starting a family together, raising their four loving children. After her education, she began her career and worked for several companies, which included Dun and Bradstreet, Pearl Assurance and Chase Bank. She then went on to work as a bookkeeper for her son's business, Bob's Auto Radiator in Staten Island. She was a woman who selflessly gave of herself to others, which showed in her volunteering her time as a member of the Ladies Auxillary of Fleet Reserve 226 and the Catholic War Veterans. She was also a Charter Member of WWII Memorial. She was a devout catholic and had a strong faith. She and her family were proud of her being one of the honorees at the 100th Anniversary of Blessed Sacrament Church in October of 2010, which was her parish for many years. The matriarch of the family, Josephine enjoyed hosting holiday dinners and get togethers, where she would make her famous lasagna, italian cheescake and any type of italian food, for which she was lovingly known for. Above all, family was extremely important to her and she treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the beloved wife to the late John A. Nappi, who passed away in 2008. Loving mother to Linda Ruspantini, John Nappi, Jr., Robert Nappi and Michael Nappi. Fond mother-in-law to Steve Ruspantini, Dawn Nappi and the late Debra Nappi. Devoted grandmother to Brian Bernier, Jennifer Garritano, Christine Masella and Robert Nappi, Jr. Cherished great grandmother to Ally, Evan and Luke Bernier and Leila, Jarrod, Cole and Emmy Garritano and Jax, Kenzie and Debra Masella. Dear sister to Dominick Pasquale and the late Louise Baez, Angela Picerno, Annette Hologounis and John and Gennaro Pasquale. Josephine is also survived by loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023, at the John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd. (at Eltingville Station), Staten Island, New York. A Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at the John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc. located at 28 Eltingville Blvd. (at Eltingville Station) Staten Island, New York 10312. Entombment will follow in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens , Woodbridge, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Josephine's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
