Kathleen V. Del George

Kathleen V. Del George, 87 passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2020, at The Brielle Assited Living Center. Born Tuesday, April 25, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Jane Summerville. She was the beloved wife of Joseph. They were married in 1952 and had 3 children together; Frank, Thomas and Debra Ann. Kathleen woked over the years in Brooklyn as a telephone switch board operator for Fortunoff, in the office at David's Carpet Store and as a Bus Matron helping school children. Upon her and her husband's retirement, they moved from Brooklyn to Pembrook Pines Florida where they lived for 25 years together. While Kathleen resided in Florida, she decided to keep busy with a part time job as a cutomer service representative at The Home Depot. She worked there until she was 82 years old. Kathleen was devoted to her family. She was a wonderful cook and loved to entertain. Her home was always so inviting and she loved having her family and friends there. She enjoyed traveling, doing puzzles and watching game shows. While living in Florida, she was active in the senior community and attended many dinner dances and group travel events. Kathleen was also a member of the Irish and Italian clubs. Kathleen was predeceased by her husband Jospeh in 2016 and her daughter Debra Ann in 1973 and her sister Joan and brother Michael. She is survived by her sons Frank (Joanne) and Thomas, her siblings Barbara, Maureen, Jane and Thomas; and her grandson Greg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday at St Clare Church located at 110 Nelson Ave Staten Island, New York 10308. Arrangements include private cremation. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
