Kathleen Dodd

Kathleen Joan Judge Dodd of Staten Island, N.Y. passed away peacefully with family by her side on April 24, 2021, one day after her 75th birthday. Kathy was born to Thomas Joseph Judge and Dina Miller Judge on April 23, 1946 in the Bronx. In 1954 the family moved to Wantagh, NY, where she attended and graduated from General Douglas MacArthur High School. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education from S.U.N.Y Oswego. Then she earned her Master's Degree in Liberal Studies from S.U.N.Y Stony Brook. Kathy was an elementary school teacher before marrying Phillip North Dodd on July 16, 1970, in Wantagh, NY. Freshly married and ready for a new adventure, Phillip and Kathy moved to Denver Colorado for a year. They then moved to Queens before purchasing a home in Village Greens in Arden Heights, Staten Island, in 1974. This is the home where the couple had their four children. Kathy was dedicated to the community where they lived. She was actively involved in her community serving as President of the Village Greens Residents Association. She was P.T.A President at P.S. 4 where all 4 of her children attended school. She was a member of Community Board 3 before becoming District Manager of Community Board 2.. As a member of Mid-Island Rotary Club, Kathy was honored to receive the Paul Harris Fellow award. Kathy is preceded in death by her beloved husband of eighteen years, Phillip North Dodd and her parents Thomas and Dina Judge. She is survived by her brother Richard Judge and sister Laurie Judge; her children and spouses Timothy and Christine Dodd of Sayreville, NJ, Allison and Joseph Rodriguez of Conroe, TX, Robert and Alexia Dodd of Staten Island, NY, Richard and Katie Dodd of Cherry Hill, NJ. Nine grandchildren are left to cherish her memory: Arturo, Maya and Marisol Rodriguez; Philip and Ella Dodd; Isadora Dodd; Truman, Hunter, and Henry Dodd. A Memorial Visitation will take place and the family will receive friends from 12:00 - 4:00 PM on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. A prayer service will be held at 2:30 pm on Saturday. Please be mindful that due to the current State mandate, masks must be worn at all times and social distancing will be required when in the funeral home. A strict 50 person room policy is in effect. Please adhere to this policy so as to allow others to pay their respects. Due to current pandemic circumstances please note: We do not accept deliveries from outside vendors for bakery products, fruit baskets and floral arrangements. Floral arrangements can be purchased from our in house floral designers who work under the most stringent and sanitary conditions which include, temperature checks, mask wearing, distancing and protective clothing.
