Krystyna Poskrobko

Krystyna Poskrobko was born in Poland on November 20, 1938, and died on November 5, 2017 at home in Staten Island where she had spent the last twenty years. In Poland, after raising her four children and burying her husband Jan in 1998, she moved to the United States and dedicated herself to raising her grandchildren living here. Being involved at every step of their education in both American and Polish supplementary schools, she taught them how to cultivate their traditions, be patriotic, appreciate their dual cultural lives and love two countries. (The delectable cookies she baked for every school event made her especially beloved by both the kids and their teachers.) Krystyna lived her life according to her faith and God. She was an amazing, loving/lovable woman who had compassion for every human being. Although she lost her own mother at the age of two and had an extremely hard childhood as well, she herself tried to be a mother for those who needed help. In Poland as well as here in the US, she created a warm atmosphere with her hospitality and amazing cooking, always giving of herself to make everyone feel welcome and at home. Extremely caring and loving, without prejudices, she managed to see the best in people. She was the strongest and most genuinely kindhearted person, who rarely thought about herself, but had a positive influence on everyone around her. We were so lucky to have her in all our lives----as mother, role model, grandmother, and Number One supporter. Always proud of her children and grandchildren's accomplishments, and recognizing the great value of a solid education and an ethical path, she continually encouraged them to reach high and live according to God's rules. We will cherish forever the wisdom, knowledge, empathy and passion for life she passed down to us. We have no doubts that our God has opened the gates of his Kingdom to her, and she, after long suffering, will enjoying serving him, looking down for us. She is survived by her four children: Janina, Andrzej, Jerzy and Adam, and her eight grandchildren: Kasper and Magdalena, Lukasz and Pola, Krzysztof and Anna, Ada and Iga. The family will receive friends from 2:00- 5:00 & 7:00 - 9:00 PM on Tuesday and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. Po smierci swego męza, Jana w 1998 roku przeprowadziła sie do Stanów Zjednoczonych gdzie poswięciła się wychowywaniu wnuków, anagażujac się w ich edukację, szczególnie w polskiej szkole. Uczyła je jak kultywować polską tradycję, być patriotą, kochającym kraj swoich rodziców i ten w którym się urodzili. Jej wspaniałe ciasteczka, które wypiekała na każdą szkolną okazję były uwielbiane przez dzieci i nauczycieli. Krystyna żyła zgodnie z prawami boskimi. Była wyjątkowym, kochajacym i kochanym przez innych człowiekiem, pełnym miłości i zrozumienia dla każdego. Chociaż w wieku dwóch lat straciła swoją matkę i miała niezmiernie trudne dzieciństwo, sama starała sie być matką dla wszystkich potrzebujących pomocy. Stworzyła dom pełen rodzinnego ciepła, gościnności, pachnącego domowymi wypiekami, witający każdego gościa. W każdym człowieku dopatrywała sie dobra, wybaczając i nie żywiac urazy do nikogo. Była dla nas cudowną matką, babcią, wzorem do naśladowania a przede wszystkim naszym największym wsparciem. Byliśmy uprzewilejowani mając ją w naszym życiu. Zawsze dumna ze swoich dzieci i wnuków, ceniąca edukację niustannie mobilizowała je do osiągania sukcesów i życia zgodnie z zasadami etyki. Bedziemy wspominać jej życiową mądrość, wyrozumiałość i pasję do życia, którą starała sie nam przekazać. Nie mamy wątpliwości, że Pan Bog otworzył jej bramy niebios i po długim cierpieniu czerpie teraz radość ze służenia jemu, wspierajac nas jednocześnie z niebios. Krystyna pozostawiła czworo dzieci: Janinę, Andrzeja, Jerzego i Adama oraz ośmioro wnuków: Kaspra i Magdalenę, Łukasza i Polę, Krzysztofa i Annę oraz Adę i Igę. Pozostawiła po sobie ogromną pustkę, której nikt i nic nie będzie w stanie wypełnić.
