Margaret L. Lally

Margaret Lally passed away at the home of her daughter, Linda, on February 6, 2024. She passed with her daughter Linda, son-in law Ronnie and granddaughter Kelly by her side. Margaret was also lovingly cared for by her daughter Sue up until Sue's passing in 2018. Margaret was born May 19, 1929 in Brooklyn NY to John and Lillian Crowley. Margaret was predeceased by her sister Eileen and brother John. At 18 years old, Margaret met the love of her life Curtis Lally and they were married on October 14, 1950. Curtis and Margaret were married for 60 years at the time of Curtis's passing in 2010. Margaret was a loving and devoted mother to 8 children. Curtis and Margaret raised their children in Brooklyn NY where they built many wonderful friendships on 11th Street in Park Slope. They then moved to Staten Island, NY in 1986. Here Margaret spent Sunday's hosting family dinners for her children and grandchildren, sometimes for over 20 people. These dinners were a joy for Margaret. Margaret worked her whole life in various positions and ended her career with Anthem Insurance where she was a Claims Adjuster for 12 years. Margaret enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and loved to watch old movies and the singing Priests with her family. Margaret loved music, especially singing with her daughter Sue. She often enjoyed visits from her sons Kevin (Kim), Brian (Leah), Thomas (Suzanne) and Shaun. She especially loved her visits and facetimes with her two newest great grandsons Joseph and James. Margaret is survived by her children Elaine Mackey (Joe), Maureen Cresci (Anthony), Brian Lally (Leah), Linda Lally-Hill (Ronald), Thomas Lally (Suzanne), and Shaun Lally. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Curtis and her children Kevin Lally (Kim) and Susan Huckemeyer (Ray). Margaret is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday February 12, 2024, at the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday February 13, 2024, at Holy Child Church located at 4747 Amboy Rd, Staten Island, New York. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
