Patricia M. Castelli

Patricia Castelli, formerly of Great Kills, Staten Island, passed away on July 8, 2026, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 89. Patricia was born on November 20, 1936, in Flushing, Queens, to Thomas Bligh and Alma Bligh (nee Diaz). She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Joseph Castelli, who passed away in 2020. Together, they built a loving home centered on faith, family, and service to others. A woman of deep and unwavering faith, Patricia devoted her life to God, her family, and her parish community. She was a lifelong member of the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima and the Third Order of St. Francis, where she met the love of her life, Joseph. Their shared devotion led them on pilgrimages to many sacred sites around the world, creating treasured memories and strengthening their faith. After making their home in Great Kills, Patricia became a devoted and active parishioner of St. Clare's Church. She found great joy in participating in parish life and was known for her quiet faith, generous spirit, and willingness to serve others. Patricia's greatest happiness came from spending time with her family and friends. She was known for her warmth, kindness, welcoming spirit, and genuine interest in others. She also loved traveling, especially to visit family members across the country, creating lasting memories with those she loved most. Patricia is lovingly survived by her four sons, Joseph, Michael, Mark, and John; her daughters-in-law, Keri Castelli (nee Wolf), Jie Li, and Eileen Castelli (nee Schmidt); her beloved grandchildren, Kaity, Joseph, Anthony, and Angelina; her brother, Lawrence Bligh of Pleasant Plains; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Though her family grieves her loss, they take comfort in knowing that Patricia has been reunited with her beloved Joseph and with the Lord whom she faithfully served throughout her life. Her legacy of faith, love, kindness, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Friday at St Clare Church located at 110 Nelson Ave Staten Island, New York 10308. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
