Paul J. Augusta

Paul J. Augusta, born September 16, 1944, age 79, of Annadale Staten Island passed peacefully Sunday, January 20th, 2024 at 9:15 pm holding his beloved wife's hand. Paul was born to Francis and Connie Augusta in Brooklyn. He enlisted in the Army at 18 and they saw so much potential in him that they made him an instructor. After being Honorably Discharged he went back to Brooklyn, where everyone knows everyone. Paul was blessed with three of the most amazing unconditional friends, Danny, Al and Ray. They would later come to be known as the "Bayridge Brooklyn Four". Paul, Danny and Al would pour their passion for music and their strong friendship into creating "The Camerons". Paul was the lead singer and guitarist, Danny played bass and vocals, and with Al behind the drums, they became the most sought after band in Brooklyn. They went on to rock Brooklyn for 25 wonderful years and along the way Ray was always there, as well as Bonnie (Danny's wife) and Diana (Al's wife). Paul began working at Domino sugar, where he met several of his friends that would be a part of his life forever. He also met his friend Ricky (and his wife Peaches), who became a brother to him leading to a loving bond between the two families. He then went on to work at Conoco Phillips (Originally Bayway Refinery) in Linden, NJ, and made more, lifelong friends. Paul started as an Operator, ultimately becoming an Instructor and retiring in 2016. During that time he met and married the love of his life, Theresa (Terry for those who knew her). Their's was a loving marriage that would last 52 and a half years. They built their house in Staten Island and they had two children, Michael and Pamela. Paul and Terry were blessed with two sets of grandchildren. John and Drake (Michael and Krista's sons) and Brooke and his namesake Paulie (Pamela and Brian's children). Paul leaves behind his beloved wife, his adored children and his amazing grandchildren, as well as a multitude of family and friends he made along the way, too many to list here. He will be missed but never forgotten, always with us in spirit. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Monday at Holy Child Church located at 4747 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will be in Moravian Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul's memory may be made to the Church of the Holy Child for a Plaque in his memory.
