Richard Louis Rainero, at the age of 76 years old crossed through heaven's gates on Monday, August 5,2024. In his time here on earth he was a constant source of guidance, love, strength and support to his family. Richard worked as a Financial Advisor for many years, but his heart was always in the kitchen where he learned many culinary skills from his father. He brought his skill and love of cooking to his family and made sure to have family dinners every single night with no excuses. He was an avid lover of all New York sports teams and lived to watch his children and grandchildren succeed in all they did. To see them all thrive on any court, field, stage or track made him so incredibly proud. He was always, without question, their number one fan. Richard enjoyed successfully completing his daily crossword puzzles. He felt strongly about the importance of education and having an extensive vocabulary. He was most definitely a man filled with more knowledge and wisdom than the average man. With that, he was always eager to share this with everyone around him. Along with all of this, Richard had a passion for planting and gardening. Anyone who would walk past his landscaping would admire and compliment his green thumb. There is no doubt that heaven's gardens just got a whole lot more beautiful with him being there. Richard is survived by his loving wife Antonette, his son Richard and wife Marianne, his daughter Kristin and husband James. Together Richard and Antonette instilled the value of love and family, always stressing the importance of a family bond. Eventually, they would welcome their 5 adoring grandchildren, Richard, Joseph, Frank, Giana and Olivia who became their world. While he will be missed immensely here on Earth, Richard's legacy will live on forever through his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Friday at Our Lady Star of the Sea located at 5411 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312. Entombment to follow at Moravian Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
