In Loving Memory of Samuel Continelli October 22, 2025 Samuel Continelli, 85, of Staten Island, NY, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised on Mulberry Street in New York City, Sam was the youngest child of Anna and Otto Continelli. He grew up alongside his beloved siblings—Aurora, Francis, Anna, and Joseph—learning early on the values of hard work, honesty, and family. Sam married the love of his life, Judith, and together they built a beautiful life, first in Brooklyn and later in Staten Island, where they raised their two children, Claudia and Arthur. A proud graduate of the “school of hard knocks,” Sam learned from his community how to be a good and honest man. He began his career in construction and later worked many years in the bookbinding industry. Never one to sit still, Sam always kept busy with side jobs—cutting lawns, repairing cars, fixing houses—and could fix just about anything. If it was broken, Sam found a way to make it work again, often with a little help from his trusty duct tape. Sam’s greatest joy came from caring for his family and helping others. He was a devoted husband, a loving and supportive father, and a proud grandfather. He cherished days spent at the beach with friends and grandsons, always full of laughter and good humor. Sam was the kind of neighbor everyone could count on—always ready to lend a hand or share a smile. He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Judith Continelli; his loving children, Claudia Pedraza and Arthur Continelli; and his cherished grandsons, Ryan Pedraza, Kevin Pedraza, Samuel Continelli, Aiden Continelli, and Christopher Continelli. He was also a devoted uncle to 3 Nephews and 3 Nieces. Sam’s spirit, generosity, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:45 AM on Monday at St. Clare Church located at 110 Nelson Ave Staten Island, New York 10308. Interment will be in Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 189 Gill Lane, Iselin, NJ. 08830 The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
