Steven P. Arnone

On Monday, April 22, 2024, Steven Peter Arnone, 77 of Rossville was called to Heaven. He was peacefully surrounded with love by his wife, children and grandchildren. Steven is survived by his loving devoted wife, Amelia (Amy) Arnone, his children, their spouses and grandchildren. He will be forever cherished by his wife and family. Steven leaves to mourn his son, Joseph Arnone, daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Jay Quinones, daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Daniel Loccisano, and son, Steven Arnone. Steven had seven beautiful grandchildren, Nicolette Quinones, Gabriella Quinones, Alexandria Quinones, Anthony Arnone, Samantha Arnone, Daniella Loccisano and Erica Loccisano . Born on Sunday, February 9th, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York, Steven was the son of the late Anthony and Josephine Arnone. At the young age of 16 years old, Steven met his greatest love at a Halloween Cotillion. After walking her home 20 blocks, Steven knew he would marry Amelia the very first night they met in 1963. Steven would later go on to serve his country in the Vietnam War and return home 4 years later to marry his love on April 4th, 1970. The couple raised their beautiful children in Eltingville and spent every summer in their West Palm Beach home for over 30 years. Until his last breath, Steven was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather who dedicated his life to cherishing his family. Steven was a proud Vietnam Veteran. From 1966-1970, he faithfully served his country in the U.S. Navy on the USS Hanson. Deployed out of the homeport of San Diego, Steven served multiple tours in Vietnam. Steven was also known for his career as a NYC Transit Bus Operator as well as his beloved hot dog stand situated outside of the Yukon Bus Depot of Staten Island. Throughout his life, Steven was an avid collector of many treasures. From coins to baseball cards, to toys and gadgets, his collections wowed all who had the opportunity to see them. But above all, Steven's greatest pastime was caring for his three granddaughters, Nikki, Gabbi and Alli. Better known as "Grandpa or Pa" to his grandchildren, they deeply valued the time shared with one another. Steven loved fishing, boating, cooking, attending celebrations, being the life of the party and especially crabbing with his granddaughters every summer at the Jersey Shore. Steven's love for his family and friends was truly immeasurable. He was the funniest man with the biggest heart who had infinite love to share. His wit, hilarious jokes and contagious laugh brought instant smiles to everyone in his presence. Steven touched many lives, and he was adored by all that had the pleasure of meeting him. Our hearts are truly broken, and our family will never be the same but his love and memories will live on for a lifetime. Until the day we can rejoice with him once again, for now, we will carry his legacy close to our hearts. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM and also, on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM at the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Our Lady Star of The Sea Church at 10:00 AM located at 5411 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
