Teresa Marrazzo

Teresa (Sferlazza) Marrazzo, 92, of Staten Island, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Eger Nursing Home in Staten Island, New York. Born on April 22, 1933 in Lucca Sicula, Sicily, Teresa was one of six, born to the late Calogero and Angelina Sferlazza. At just 16 years old, Teresa immigrated to the United States with her sister JoAnn, where she met her husband, the late Alphonse Marrazzo and settled in Canarsie, Brooklyn. In Canarsie, she gave birth to her only child, Alphonse Marrazzo and later became a grandmother to Jennifer Marrazzo. She was constantly surrounded by family, including her brother and sisters-in-laws and nieces and nephews, who she loved. Teresa was a seamstress, who was dedicated to her craft and loved to fix everyone�s clothing when she could. Teresa was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alphonse Marrazzo. She was a loving sister to the late JoAnn Messina, Sam Sferlazza, Lucca Sferlazza, Rosalia Sferlazza and Alfonso Sferlazza. Teresa was a beloved mother to Alphonse Marrazzo and his wife, Felice. She was a beloved grandmother to Jennifer Marrazzo. Teresa was a beloved Aunt to Carla and Alfred Alaimo, Dolly and Paolo Rao, Charlie Sferlazza, Angela and Dominick Passarelli, Charles Sferlazza, Leny and Victoria Sferlazza, Angie Sferlazza, Lilo Sferlazza, Nino Sferlazza, Angela Sferlazza, Yvonne and Michael Ferrante, Gloria and Robert Dubose, Patricia Lesman, Fred and Carolann Froewiss, Anthony Froewiss, Anthony and Lucille Marrazzo, John and Kathy Petrokiewicz, RoseAnn D�Alessio and the late Anthony Marrazzo. She was a beloved great Aunt and sister-in-law to many. Even if you weren�t Teresa�s nieces or nephews by blood, she treated everyone like her nieces and nephews, including Jeannette, Steve, Stephen and Peter Angelo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00am on Friday, September 12, 2025 at St. Clare Church located at 110 Nelson Avenue, Staten Island, New York 10308. Entombment will be at St. John�s Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd. Staten Island, New York.
