Vincent Coccimiglio, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on April 4, 1947, in the vibrant city of Brooklyn, New York, Vincent's life was a tapestry of love, service, and laughter that touched all who were fortunate enough to know him. Vincent was the beloved son of Caroline and Vincent Coccimiglio, who predeceased him and instilled in him the values of kindness and humor that would define his life. He was a proud alumnus of Grady High School in Brooklyn, where he laid the foundation for a lifetime of learning and personal growth. In 1965, Vincent answered the call to serve his country, joining the United States Army as a Field Radio Technician. He bravely served in combat during the Vietnam War, exemplifying courage and dedication. Upon returning home, Vincent married Teresa Vetri in 1967. Together they raised their children. Vincent built a successful career with the New York Telephone Company as a Repair Technician, where he devoted himself to ensuring clear and reliable communication for countless families. Vincent's passions extended beyond his professional life. He found joy in racing pigeons, a hobby that allowed him to connect with nature and appreciate the simple beauty of life. Known for his vibrant personality, Vincent was also a beloved DJ, bringing joy and music to countless parties and special events. His ability to lift spirits with his humor and warmth was unmatched, and he could always be counted on to entertain and bring smiles to those around him. Family was at the heart of Vincent's world. He is survived by his devoted daughter and son-in-law, Concetta and Michael Gregorio, and his loving son, Vincent Coccimiglio. His legacy continues through his adored grandchildren, Mikey, Giana, and Vincent, who brought immense joy to his life. Vincent also leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Mary Coccimiglio, and Teresa Veltri who shared in countless family memories and adventures. Vincent's enduring spirit and love will be celebrated in a service held on June 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Child, located at 4747 Amboy Road, Staten Island, NY. His family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to The Village at Meadowbrook Assisted Living Facility and Swan Hospice Care for their compassionate care and support during Vincent's final days. Though Vincent has departed this world, his legacy of laughter, love, and kindness remains in the hearts of all who knew him. His laughter echoes in our memories, a gentle reminder of the light he brought into our lives. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at Holy Child Church located at 4747 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
