Wilfred Meehan

Wilfred Meehan , 93 of Titusville, Florida passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021. Born Thursday, October 27, 1927 in Staten Island, New York, he was the son of the late Harold and Madeline Meehan. Wilfred was a lifelong Staten Islander until he settled in Florida 15 years ago. Wilfred was the beloved husband to his late wife Patricia. They were married for over 50 years and raised their four children William, Gary, Patti and Greg. Wilfred and Patricia loved to travel over the years. He was an honorably discharged veteran who served for the Merchant Marines. He chose to leave high school to serve his country. He then went on to begin his career as an Elevator Mechanic and worked for OTIS Elevator Company and then Fujitech before his retirement. After his retirement, Wilfred decided to go back to school to complete and achieve his GED. He did this at the age of 75 and was so proud. His family threw him a wonderful celebration for his achievements. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching his favorite football team, the New York Giants. Wilfred is survived by his son Gary and wife Patricia; his daughter Patti Hazen and her husband Dennis, his son in law Abe Kawaihalau. survived by his companion Dorothy Fuchs, His 3 grandchildren Matthew & Justin Meehan and Dennis Hazen; 4 great grandchildren Ella, Ashley, Charlotte and Patrick and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his wife Patricia and sons Greg and William. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:15 AM on Wednesday at St. Charles Church, 200 Penn Ave, Staten Island, NY 10306. Interment will be in Ocean View Cemetery to follow. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
