Obituary for Winifred Patricia Bradley (Brennan) Winifred Patricia Bradley (Brennan), age 91, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, at Carmel Richmond Nursing Home, where she spent her last five years surrounded by the loving care of the Carmelite Sisters, nurses, and staff., Winifred lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. Winifred was the cherished daughter of Thomas P. and Margaret Brennan and grew up in Manhattan alongside her five beloved sisters: Helen, Mary, Margaret, Anne, and Joan—all of whom have pre-deceased her. She attended St. Jean the Baptiste grammar school and later graduated from high school in 1952. It was during her early career that she met her future husband, Thomas P. Bradley, at work. They embarked on their journey together, marrying on May 25, 1957. Following their marriage, Winnie and Tom moved to the Bronx, where they joyfully welcomed four sons: Thomas P. (Kathleen), Kevin M, Timothy J. (Nancy), and Edward G. (pre-deceased) and his wife Marie.. In 1969, the family relocated to Staten Island, where they continued to nurture their growing family and build a warm home filled with love. Winnie was not just a devoted wife and mother; she also found great joy in contributing to her community. As a dedicated teacher of CCD classes at St. Joseph St. Thomas Parish, she prepared countless children for the sacraments of Holy Communion and Confirmation, a role she cherished greatly. Her love for teaching and the joy those children brought her were evident to all who knew her. Known for her fun-loving spirit, Winnie adored spending time with family, friends, and neighbors. She and Tom were the life of every gathering, dancing joyfully at parish functions and creating cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know them. Despite the challenges of vascular dementia in her later years, Winnie never lost her cheerful spirit. Her presence at Carmel Richmond Nursing Home lit up the lives of those around her; she was known for her laughter, her love of singing, and her genuine warmth. The Bradley family expresses their deep gratitude to the staff for the care, love, and kindness shown to their beloved mother. Winnie is survived by her three sons, Thomas P. (Kathleen), Kevin M, and Timothy J. (Nancy), and her daughter in law Marie, as well as her fourteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored and cherished. She is also survived by her beloved sisters-in-law, Jeanne Ambrose (Tom) and Katherine Von Bargen (John, deceased). A funeral service will be held in her honor at 10:30 AM on May 19, 2025, at St Thomas the Apostle Church, located at 50 Maguire Avenue, Staten Island, New York. Winnie will be interred at Resurrection Cemetery on Staten Island, NY. As we remember Winifred Patricia Bradley, let us celebrate a life that touched many, a heart that embraced all, and a spirit that will forever dance in our memories. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the importance of family, which will continue to inspire us all. Rest in peace, dear Winnie.
