Yolanda Isgro

Yolanda Isgro, 96, of Toms River, New Jersey, passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021, at the Addeo Hospice Residence. Throughout her life, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister to eleven siblings, and aunt to 31 nieces and nephews. Yolanda was born on November 6, 1925, in Brooklyn, NY, the youngest of those eleven siblings. She married Anthony Isgro on September 6, 1947, and they were happily married for 45 years, living together in Brooklyn, Staten Island, and Toms River. Together, they had two devoted children, Gary and Rosanne. Yolanda was predeceased by her husband and daughter and all eleven siblings and their spouses, the last of a generation of loving family members. She worked for over 40 years as a bookkeeper and office manager for Knight Slipper in Brooklyn and the Shoe Workers' Union in Manhattan and later in life as manager of a ladies' retail clothing store in Toms River. She had an energetic spirit and worked with zest in all her roles in life. Yolanda loved spending time with her family in large close-knit gatherings in Brooklyn and throughout her long life, with her many friends. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing mahjong and cards and taking trips whenever she could to Atlantic City. Yolanda is survived by her son, Gary, her daughter-in-law, Sheila, her grandchildren, Timothy, Daniel, and Matthew, and her five great-grandchildren Abby, Luke, Siena, Olive, and Jason. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at Our Lady Star of the Sea located at 5411 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, 56 Cedar Grove Rd, Toms River, NJ 08753. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, December 13, 2021, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
