Anna Klimasz

December 25, 1925 - September 14, 2020

Anna Klimasz, 94 of Staten Island, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2020, surrounded by her loving family at home. Born Friday, December 25, 1925 in Rattyczow, Poland, she was the daughter of the late Jan Wojcicka and Maria Maxmovich Wojcicka. Anna was a snowbird, living in Florida in the colder months. Anna was a member of many clubs including the Moosehead Club in Florida and the Polar Bear Club. She was a member of the Ridgewood Dance Company. She competed in dance competition and placed 3rd in a Ballroom Dance Competition. In Anna's free time she enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers and vegetables. She also loved going to beach and taking walks in the sand. She enjoyed cooking and feeding others. She loved dancing and socializing with her friends. Family was very important to Anna and she especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Anna and her boyfriend Donte enjoyed traveling to Italy together but they especially liked visiting Calabria, where Donte had a home. Anna was the devoted wife of the late Stephen S. Kilmasz who predeceased her in 1966. Loving mother of Dorothy Klimasz, Anne Elizabeth Sullivan and the late Stanley and the late Frank. Cherished Grandmother to Christina, Sean and Patrick. Doting great grandmother to Francisco. Anna was also predeceased by her boyfriend of 20 years, the late Donte Sama who predeceased her about 15 years ago. She is also survived by her cats Tootsie and Fonzy and her daughter's dog pepper, who she was known for feeding under the table. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Friday at St. Clare's Church located at 110 Nelson Avenue Staten Island, New York 10308. Interment will be in Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 17, 2020, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. Please be mindful due to the current State mandate that a mask must be worn at all times in the funeral home and social distancing requirements must be followed during the services. Due to the current Pandemic a strict 40-50 person in room policy is in effect, please adhere to this policy and allow others to pay their respects as well.
