Anna A. Mazzelli Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Anna A. Mazzelli (Zahra) passed away, surrounded by her family, on January 6, 2021, at the age of 78. Born in Brooklyn, NY on June 11, 1942, to the Late Vincent and Antoinette Zahra, Anna devoted her life to her family. Known for her infectious happy eyed smile and heart of gold, Anna warmed a room the minute she walked in. She loved cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren and will forever be the best Mom and Nanny on the planet. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Lawrence J. Mazzelli who passed away on December 1, 1998. She is survived by her daughter Donna Spinetta and husband Michael, son Lawrence Mazzelli and wife Kim, son Michael Mazzelli and wife Madalena, daughter Julie Mazzelli, seven grandchildren, Steven Mazzelli, Anthony Spinetta, Nicolas Mazzelli, Lawren Spinetta, Gianna Mazzelli, Vincent Mazzelli, Ava Mazzelli, and her brother Paul Zahra. She also leaves behind sister-in-law Victoria Mazzelli, Brother-in-law Edward Mazzelli, loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifetime friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, January, 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Holy Child Church. The interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. A gathering of familly and friends will take place on Monday, January 11, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM , at the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. In Lieu of flowers, donations in Anna's name may be made to:St. Jude's Children Research Hospital: StJude.org Please be mindful due to the current State mandate that a mask must be worn at all times in the funeral home and social distancing requirements must be followed during the services. Due to the current Pandemic a strict 30 person in room policy is in effect, as well as a maximum of 100 people permitted in Church. Please adhere to this policy and allow others to pay their respects as well. Due to the current pandemic circumstances please note: We do not accept deliveries from outside vendors for bakery products, fruit baskets, and floral arrangements until further notice. Floral Arrangements can be purchased from our in house floral designers who work under the most stringent sanitary conditions which include temperature checks, mask wearing, distancing and protective clothing.
