Annette Arena

July 22, 1943 - February 18, 2022

Annette Arena rests in peace after passing away at the age of 78 on February 18, 2022. Annette was born in Brooklyn on July 22, 1943 to Josephine and Vincent Vallinoto. She graduated New Utrecht High School in 1961 and married her husband Paul Arena on October 10, 1964. Following the births of their son Paul in 1968 and daughter Barbara in 1971, she and her family moved to a new home in Great Kills, Staten Island. She raised her children there and remained in that same house for the rest of her life. Annette was an avid reader, a competitive bowler for more than 40 years, and loved to vacation with family and friends, especially on cruises throughout the Caribbean. She was a longtime member of The Staten Island Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America alongside both her husband and son. The lasting friendships she made from those interests were cherished and enjoyed to the fullest. She is survived by her husband Paul, son Paul Arena, daughter Barbara Padovano, daughter-in-law Sandy and son-in-law Paul. She leaves behind her adored grandchildren Marialena Padovano, Paul Padovano, Vincent Arena and Noah Lancia, as well as countless others that lovingly saw her as "Mom" and "Nana". She is also survived by her sister Rosalie Brannick and husband Dennis, and her three nephews Michael, Kevin and Dennis Brannick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:15 PM on Tuesday at St Clare Church located at 110 Nelson Ave Staten Island, New York 10308. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, February 21, 2022, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
