Anthony Robert Colacino

November 10, 1991 - April 24, 2021

Anthony Robert Colacino of Great Kills went to be with the Lord on April 24, 2021. Anthony was a disabled former Police Officer for the Department of Homeless Services here in New York City. He was the cherished son of Robert and Margaret Ann Colacino. Beloved brother of Max. Maria Grace and Joseph Colacino. Devoted grandson of Nancy Schillaci, the late John Schillaci and the late Robert and Joan Colacino. Loving Godson of Linda and Donald Albanese. He was a loving nephew and cousin to many . He also leaves behind his faithful dog and companion Smokie. Anthony was a devout believer in Jesus Christ and he believed in the love, forgiveness and peace that only Jesus Christ can give. He lived and showed that love through his generosity and love for his family, friends, and particulary the homeless and struggling population that he served in New York City. Anthony saved a number of lives in his years as a Police Officer working in various homeless shelters. He had a heart for God's People, especially the poor. He lived simply and always had a grateful heart. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Thursday from 5-9pm at the John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church at 10:30 am. Entombment will follow in Madonna Cemetery, Ft. Lee NJ. A strict 50 person room policy is in effect. Please adhere to this policy so as to allow others to pay their respects. Due to current pandemic circumstances please note: We do not accept deliveries from outside vendors for bakery products, fruit baskets and floral arrangements. Floral arrangements can be purchased from our in house floral designers who work under the most stringent and sanitary conditions which include, temperature checks, mask wearing, distancing and protective clothing.
