Anthony F Petrizzo

July 10, 1931 - April 25, 2022

Anthony F. Petrizzo of Great Kills passed away on Monday April 25, 2022. Born in Brooklyn to the late Dante and Concetta, he worked as a maintenance supervisor for the United States Navy. A man who was very patriotic, loved his Country and his family he was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. First and foremost he was a dedicated and devoted family man. His family came before all else, and that was evident by the way he treated his wife, daughters and grandchildren. Besides being patriotic he was a Community minded person, He believed in giving back to others. He delivered Meals On Wheels for many years, often taking his grandchildren with him, stopping only when the Pandemic occurred. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, music, especially Frank Sinatra, reading about history and watching the History Channel, he was intrigued by space and enjoyed researching any NASA related items. He did enjoy travelling but it was a hard sell convincing him to go. He was a member of the Fr. Drumgoole Council of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the JCC and AARP. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Genevieve, his two daughters Janine Petrizzo - DeJesus and Tinamarie Petrizzo- Hughes. He was the dearest brother of Michael and will be fondly remembered by his 4 grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at The John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc. 28 Eltingville Blvd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday beginning at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clare's Church 110 Nelson Avenue
