Antonina Silvio Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Antonina Silvio, 77 of Woodrow, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born Sunday, October 22, 1944, in Torretta, Sicily, she was the daughter of the late Pietro and Rosaria Cangialosi. She was the beloved wife to the late Sebastiano who passed way in 2014. They were married for 42 years and together raised their three loving children. Antonina migrated to United States in 1967 where she worked as a seamstress. Eventually settling in Brooklyn where she met and married Sebastiano Silvio and started her family eventually moving to Staten Island in 1990. Our dear and wonderful mother Antonina Silvio was the rock of our family, constantly anchoring us to the wonderful family values she taught us. Ever the protector, Ever the teacher she was always focus on the health and future of her children and grandchildren. Antonina was a kind hearted loving person who loved spending time with her grandchildren. I great cook, she was always looking to feed the world and was always sure to carry our traditions making fresh pasta, fig cookies and our annual sauce making day. She is survived by her three children Antonino, Maria and Pietro; her three sisters Caterina, Rita and Maria Stella; daughter in-law Dayna and her nine grandchildren Sebastiano, Salvatore, Pietro, Sergio, Josephine, Victoria, Christian, Alexis and Nina. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at Holy Child Church located at 4747 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312.Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
