Carmen Caroli, 96 of Tottenville, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022, at Eger Health Care Center. Born Saturday, June 13, 1925 in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Antonio Rivera and the late Josefina Vargas Rivera. Carmen came to New York at the age of 18 with her sister and friends to work in New York City. She met her husband Victor Caroli. They got marriend in 1950 and lived in Manhattan for 50 years on 135th Street. They then moved to New Springville to reside with their daughter Virginal Solla. She then moved to Tottenville for 23 years where she resided before moving to Eger Nursing & Rehabilitation. One of Carmen�s greatest loves was to cook for her family. Her hobbies also included playing dominoes, bingo and trips to Atlantic City. Carmen was the beloved wife to the late Victor, who passed away in 1989. Loving mother to Virginia Solla and Victor and Raymond Caroli. Fond mother-in-law to Carlos Solla and Minerva and Jacquelyn Caroli. Dear sister to Herbert Rivera. Devoted grandmother to Tony Solla and Larissa, Michael and Daniella Solla, Christina Hanan and Dean, Angelina Caroli, Matthew Caroli and Victoria Caroli. Cherished great grandmother to Joseph, Michael, Gabriella, Justin, Ariella and Billy. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 on Monday, May 16, 2022, at the John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd. (at Eltingville Station), Staten Island, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church located at 5411 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will follow in St Raymond's Cemetery.
