Charles Barresi

July 3, 1940 - September 27, 2020

Charles Barresi, 80 of Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey passed away on on Sunday, September 27, 2020, at Hackensack Meridian Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born Wednesday, July 3, 1940 in New York, New York, he was the son the late Philip and Grace Barresi. He was the beloved husband of Vincenzina Barresi. They were married for 58 years. He and Vincenzina moved to Staten Island in 1967 where raised their sons Philp and Charles. They resided here until they retired and settled in Little Egg Harbor in 2012. Charles was a graduate of the Pratt Institute of Technology. He earned his Associates Degree in Architecture. He went on to work in the field and made his way to become the proud owner of his own firm; Slomanson, Smith and Barresi. He worked and commuted to Bleeker Street in Manhattan until his retirement in 2000. He was a true family man. He looked forward to the holidays, family get togethers and special occasions. He enjoyed going for dinner with family and friends. He was a simple man who enjoyed a nice glass of Johnny Walker Black and Remy Martin XO. One of his favorite pastimes was carpentry. Something he passed along to his sons along with many other life skills. With his wood working skills, he enjoyed building his toys for his grandchildren, they were his true pride and joy. Over the years, Charles and Vincenzina had the opportunity to travel. One of their favorite places to visit was Italy,having traveled back there numerous times. They always enjoyed an adventure and getting to see the world together. Surviving are his wife Vincenzina, his sons, Philip and Charles, daughter in laws Rosemary and Kim Marie, siblings Paul, Natalie Insalaco and Michael; his two brothers Philip and Daniel pre deceased him, his grandchildren Nicholas, Philip and his wife Brenda, Jeanmarie and Alexander and his great-grandaughter Giulietta. He was a loving uncle and friend to many. He will be truly missed by all. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday at St. Patrick's Church located at 53 St. Patrick's Place Staten Island, New York 10306. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.scaliahome.com Please be mindful due to the current State mandate that a mask must be worn at all times in the funeral home and social distancing requirements must be followed during the services. Due to the current Pandemic a strict 40-50 person in room policy is in effect, please adhere to this policy and allow others to pay their respects as well.
