Clifford M. Besett

Clifford M Besett, also known as ''Wizard'' by those who loved and knew him, passed away with his loving family by his side on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He was 71 years old. Born Saturday, July 29, 1950 in Staten Island, New York, he was a proud son of the late Cliff and Helen Besett. He was employed as a blacksmith for the NYC Department of Sanitation. He was a most devoted father to his two points of light in the Universe, daughters Heidi and Melanie Besett. His loving partner, Debra Lipp, will mourn the immense loss of Wizard for all her remaining days. Wizard was an amazing and dear brother to siblings, Sandra and Louis Saccone, the late Richard and Marybeth Besett, and the late DeeAnn LaCross. His cherished grandchildren, Kyla Ilyse Besett and Alexander Michael Baez, will carry on the legacy of their grandfather forever. Anyone who came into contact with Wizard knew that they were with a man whose heart was the size of his smile. He will be immeasurably missed by legions of family and friends, forevermore. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Holy Family Church located at 366 Watchogue Road, Staten Island, New York 10314. A Private Cremation will follow.
