January 24, 1940 - January 7, 2021

Corinne M. Buda, 80 of Staten Island, New York passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Staten Island University Hospital South in Staten Island, New York. Born Wednesday, January 24, 1940 in Brooklyn , New York, she was the daughter of the late William Murphy and Gladys Lowe Murphy. Corinne lived in Brooklyn for many years but in 1966 she settled in the Willowbrook area of Staten Island. Corinne worked as a Nursing Coordinator for UpJohn Home Health Care and was later owner of Eduardo's Bridal Shop in Staten Island. She relished her role as a member of the Professional Business Women and as Senior Regent at the Moose Club. In her spare time, Corinne enjoyed doing arts and crafts. She was actively involved in her children's lives and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She cherished attending family functions. Corinne was the devoted wife of 38 years to the late Thomas G. Buda who predeceased her in 1996. Loving mother to Lauralee Daber (James), Wilean Buda Huertas, Donald Buda (Maria) and Mariann Buda. Dear sister to Gladys D. Bleistein. Cherished grandmother to Ann-Marie (Rob), James (Ashley), Thomasina, Melissa, Victoria, Eduardo, Antonio, Sofia, Lily and Thomas. Doting great grandmother to Dawson, Isabella, Mia and Colton. Known affectionately, as "Nana", "Nanny", "Ginger",and "Big Red" she was always Beloved Old Auntie to numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral service will be at 8:00 PM on Sunday at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc. located at 28 Eltingville Blvd Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will be in Moravian Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. Please be mindful due to the current State mandate that a mask must be worn at all times in the funeral home and social distancing requirements must be followed during the services. Due to the current Pandemic a strict 30 person in room policy is in effect. Please adhere to this policy and allow others to pay their respects as well. Due to the current pandemic circumstances please note: We do not accept deliveries from outside vendors for bakery products, fruit baskets, and floral arrangements until further notice. Floral Arrangements can be purchased from our in house floral designers who work under the most stringent sanitary conditions which include temperature checks, mask wearing, distancing and protective clothing. You can call 718-948-2016 and place your order. We must protect the families we serve, our own families and staff who operate the funeral home.
