Deirdre Ann Doherty

June 19, 1962 - April 12, 2022

Deirdre Ann Doherty of Eltingville passed away on Tuesday April 12, 2022, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Brooklyn to Edward and the late Norma. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree from Hofstra University and then went onto Kean University where she earned her Master's Degree. For many years she worked in retail sales, and after she recived her Master's Degree she embarked on a fullfilling career as a speech pathologist. She was meticlious when it came to deatils. She inherited her Mothers green thumb and she possed a unique gift for caring and nuturing plants. She was outgoing and social. Her home was always open for parties, and gatherings with family and friends, be it for Holidays and any other occasion. She enjoyed art, nature and taking long walks along the beach. She was devoted to her family and treated her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children. She is survived by her father Edward F., her loving siblings, Michael, Christopher and Lisa Posen. She was pre deceased by her brother Scott. Devoted Aunt to Connor, Nicholas, Ryan, Dean, Kerrymae, Cassidy, Daniel, Brielle, Grace, Mary, Rose, Alexis and Savannah. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at The John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc. 28 Eltingville Blvd. Religious servces will take place at 3:00 pm Thursday in the Funeral Home Committal services will be private. At the request of the family please make contributions in Deirdre's name to St. Judes Childrens Hospital
