Dorothy Vaccaro, 80, entered into the Gates of Heaven on February 14, 2022. Dorothy Lanzieri Born in Brookly, NY on 8/13/1941. Daughter of the Late Anna and Salvatore Lanzieri. Mrs. Vaccaro graduated St. Joseph High School in 1958. She was a gifted and talented young woman and because of her academic abilities she was offered to be skipped a grade. After High School, she attended a business and stenography school where she quickly excelled in business and stenography. Mrs. Vaccaro was married in November of 1961, had three children John, Graceann who preceded her mother in death in 2013, and Sallyann D'Esposito. Mrs. Vaccaro moved to Travis Staten Island in 1972. After raising her family, Mrs. Vaccaro went back to the workforce where she began her first career as a legal secretary for law firms in Manhattan, a career most women of her time only dreamed of. After retiring in 1992 from her first career Mrs. Vaccaro became a Floral designer and Faux painter, with her daughter Grace where they both started Bella Designs. Mrs. Vaccaro also became a self taught artist in her later years. She also took on part time jobs at L Furs in New Dorp and was a caregiver for many Staten Island working families. She was a member of Richmond Evergreen Garden club and Gateway. My mother never stopped learning or educating herself - she was a gifted, intelligent, talented and energetic woman who saw the beauty in everyone and everything. Up until a few months ago she was still continuing to read Biographies and pressing flowers. Mrs. Vaccaro also made her own maternity clothes and clothing for her children. My mother used to make us Halloween costumes, she even made them for her grandchildren. Besides all her accolades she had a gift and love for gardening. She helped many of her nieces with her knowledge and gardening skills. Above all, she will be remembered for being a Loving and dedicated Mother, Mother-in-Law and Grandmother. My mothers love for us was unmatched; her children and grandchildren will always be her most amazing accomplishments. She loved us all beyond. We were everything to her and she was our most precious assets. Our love for her will be eternal. I will miss her my whole life; she was everything to my family and I. We are at a great loss in our lives, but I know she was greeted by her beautiful Gracie when she entered Heaven on Valentines Day. Mrs. Vaccaro is survived by her Son, John, her Daughter Sallyann D'Esposito, her Daughter in Law Elena and Son in law Vincent. Her Daughter Grace preceded her in death in 2013.
