Eileen McTiernan

February 7, 1946 - June 15, 2022

Eileen McTiernan, 76 of St George, formerly of Oakwood, and Eltingville, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at home. Born February 7, 1946, in Brooklyn, NY, Eileen was the loving daughter of the late John Albanese and the late Elizabeth (Doremus) Albanese. Eileen attended and graduated from Catherine McAuley High School in Brooklyn and went on to further her education and obtain her bachelor's in Education from SUNY- Oneonta. Moving from Brooklyn to Staten Island in 1963, Eileen began her career as an educator at PS 50, she went on to teach in St Joseph- St Thomas, Our lady Star of the Sea, Msgr. Farrell High School, and the College of Staten Island. Eileen was one of the founders of the Co Op Summer Course at Holy Child Church. She was a member of the South Shore Swim Club and in her giving nature, Eileen devoted her time to Meals on Wheels, delivering meals to the needy and disabled. In her free time, Eileen loved to play dominoes, Mah Jong, she cherished trips to Atlantic City with friends and family. She relished a good glass of wine to unwind and was always up for a trip to the gym, especially spin classes. More than anything Eileen treasured being in the company of her friends. Eileen was the beloved wife of the late Brian McTiernan who passed away in 2011. Loving mother of John McTiernan and Kerri Ann McTiernan, dear mother in-law of Shelby. Adored sister of Beth Larsen-Waldman. Cherished grandmother of her 3 grandchildren Juliet, Megumiko and Kokomiko. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 AM on Saturday at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church located at 5411 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312. Private cremation to follow. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, June 17, 2022, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
