Eleanor Mattina
February 28, 1928 - June 27, 2021
Eleanor Mattina, 93, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021, at Richmond University Medical Center. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Eleanor truly loved life and saw each day as a gift. Her family stated that she found the good in everything and always ''Walked in God's Grace.'' Born Tuesday, February 28, 1928 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Liberata Pezzanite. Eleanor was the beloved wife of her late husband Peter who passed away on January 25, 1992. She was an active member of St. Clare Church and was faithfully devoted. She was blessed to see the Pope in person when he came to visit years ago in the United States. She was most grateful for that opportunity and still spoke of it to this day. Eleanor enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, playing bingo, dancing and most recently found enjoyment in making jewelry for her family and friends. Above all, Eleanor loved her family. She was always present and supportive to her children and grandchildren. She was a grandmother who was always there to cheer on her grandkids and never missed an occasion to celebrate with them. She is survived by her loving children Philip (Diana), Frank (Suzanne), Francine Botti (Edward), and Peter. Her ten grandchildren Daniel, Lauren, Kristen, Stephen, Miranda, Victoria, Leanna, Joseph, Bianca and Gretchen, her great grandchildren Madelyn and Michael and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:45 AM on Thursday at St Clare Church located at 110 Nelson Ave Staten Island, New York 10308. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
