Elizabeth Franco, 92 Eltingville, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late John and Generosa Rosati. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Franco who passed in 2013. They were married for 63 years. Elizabeth and Frank raised their family in Brooklyn before settling in Staten Island in 1990. Elizabeth was a graduate of Girls Commercial High School. After graduation, she began working at American Express as an executive assistant. She left American Express to begin raising her children. As they grew up, Elizabeth started working as a librarian in St Athanasius School and then at Bishop Kearney High School. In her spare time, Elizabeth enjoyed traveling and looked forward to taking yearly trips with the Franco family to Mountain Manor Resort. She was a woman who loved her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She truly loved the time she got to spend with each of them. Elizabeth also adored her nieces and nephews and enjoyed playing Pokeno with them. Elizabeth is survived by her son Frank Franco, daughter Jane Nesci and her husband Joe, sister, Lillian Santoro, sister in laws Frances Rosati and Angela Franco, her grandchildren Alyssa Koys (Peter), Andrew and Amanda Nesci; and her great grandsons Justin and Dean and many niece and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband Frank and her brother Joseph Rosati. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:15 AM on Thursday at Our Lady Star of The Sea located at 5411 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312. Entombment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elizabeth's memory may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or University Hospice. Please be mindful due to the current State mandate that a mask must be worn at all times in the funeral home and social distancing requirements must be followed during the services. Due to the current Pandemic a strict 50 person in room policy is in effect, as well as a maximum of 300 people permitted in Church. Please adhere to this policy and allow others to pay their respects as well. Due to the current pandemic circumstances please note: We do not accept deliveries from outside vendors for bakery products, fruit baskets, and floral arrangements until further notice. Floral Arrangements can be purchased from our in house floral designers who work under the most stringent sanitary conditions which include temperature checks, mask wearing, distancing and protective clothing.
