Francesca Bruno, 94 of South Amboy, New Jersey passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022. Born Monday, November 21, 1927 in Sicily, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo Gallina and Antonina Sinena Gallina. We all called her "Nonna Ciccina" Grandma lived for her family she was often a "bonus grandma" to all of her nieces and nephew's and their children. She was a shoulder to cry on for most of us and confident to others. She was quick to help if someone was needed help. Francesca loved to make us laugh at times; she wore masks and costumes. She enjoyed cooking for her grandkids, often feeding us candy or chocolate without our parents' approval. She was famous for her Christmas cookies and her sauce. She spoiled us with nick knacks and loved to be loved. She wanted to always know she was the best grandma. Francesca's heart was divided between Italy and New York because her son lives in Sicily and her daughters in New York, so she often spent summers in Sicily where she proceeded to make more memories. She enjoyed picnics and long walks in the mountains. She taught us how to pick fruit off a tree and Crochet. Grandma loved crocheting and knitting she made each and every one of us a blanket and made all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren special socks. She was catholic and often prayed to her devoted saint "Santa Fortunata ''. She filled our life with memories, and we will never forget her stories. Francesca was the devoted wife to the late Filippo Bruno who predeceased her. Loving mother to Enzo Bruno, Mariella Bruno, Antonella Bruno, the late Gaspare Bruno. Fond mother-in-law to Rita Bruno, Saad Eloraby, the late Santino Carnemolla. Dear sister to Rosa Bruno (the late Vincenzo), Enza Scavio (the late Franco), Simona Novello (the late Giuseppe), Maria Cirrincione (the late Sebastiano), Filippo Gallina (Lucrezia), Lina Scalici (Pietro), the late Gaetano and Giuseppina Gallina, the late Giovanna and Antonino Perrone, and the late Mimmo and Vita Gallina. Cherished grandmother to Franca Bruno (Anthony Lopez), Lidia Caruso (Franco Caruso), Mimma Bruno (Nicola Scarpinato), Laura Bruno (Franco Assolvi), Francesca Morici (Joseph Morici), Luigi Carnemoll (Teresa Carnemolla), Angelica DiMeglio (John DiMeglio), Frances Proscia (Stephen Proscia), Nunzio DiMaggio, Gabriella Kolodziej (Richard Kolodziej). Doting Great Grandmother to Serena Assolvi, Mariella Caruso, Raffaele Bavaro, Sophia Assolvi, Joseph Morici, Sebastian Caruso, Vincenzo Bavaro, Angelica Scarpinato, Claudia Caruso, Cristina Morici, Aria Carnemolla, Louis DiMeglio, Theodore Kolodziej. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at Holy Child Church located at 4747 Amboy Rd Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will follow in Oceanview Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
