Freddie T. Vazquez

January 4, 1956 - July 27, 2020

Freddie T. Vazquez, 64 of Great Kills passed away suddenly on Monday, July 27, 2020, at Staten Island University Hospital North after a short illness. Born Wednesday, January 4, 1956 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Tomas Vazquez and the late Victorina (Gonzalez) Vazquez. Freddie was a member of Local 30 Operating Engineers, before his retirement. Freddie was homebody, relishing in BBQ's in the yard with family and friends. A sports fan Fred could be found in front of the TV for any number of games being played. His most cherished times were travel to Puerto Rico, to stay at his second home his Condo, where he would get together with relatives and friends there. Family was most important to Fred and he spent as much time as possible with them. He was the beloved husband of 38 years to Linda (Cassaneto) Vazquez. Loving father of Jason Vazquez, Adam Vazquez (Erin) and David Vazquez. Cherished brother of Milton Vazquez and Eric Vazquez. and dear brother in law of Joyce and Susan Vazquez. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday August 4, 2020 , 11:15 AM at St. Clare Church 110 Nelson Ave Staten Island, New York 10308. Private Cremation to follow. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, August 3, 2020, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. Please be mindful due to the current state mandate that a mask must be worn at all times in the funeral home and social distancing requirements must be followed during the services. Due to the current Pandemic a strict 40 person in room policy is in effect, please adhere to this policy and allow others to pay their respects as well.
