Helene M. Colasanto

May 28, 1942 - November 21, 2020

Helene Colasanto, 78, an Eltingville resident in Staten Island, NY passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Eger Nursing Home. Her only child, Jennifer Colasanto, was by her side that morning before her passing. Born on May 28, 1942 in Brooklyn NY, Helene was the surviving widow of Frank V.Colasanto, also born in Brooklyn. The oldest of 4 children, she is survived by her Dad David, her sister Amy Bernstein of Plainview, her sister Joany Magee (GA) and her brother Stanley. She was a loving Aunt to six nieces and nephews. Helene was the receptionist at E-Z Pass from 2007 and for many years greeted everyone with her famous smile and gentle voice. She loved her job and would talk about all of her work friends with adoration. She enjoyed what she did and her passion in life was simply to make everyone she crossed paths with smile. Helene was a huge music lover and Doo Wop was her absolute favorite. After years of illness, she spent her days at home with her cat Harley and watching her favorite shows like, Blue Bloods, Law & Order, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She would take an occasional afternoon and have shopping trips to Christmas Tree Shop (her favorite) and lunch with dear friends. In earlier years Helene and Frank enjoyed trips to AC, 50's music shows and nights out dancing the Lindy Hop. They loved evenings filled with friends and family over for "cawfee and cake". Helene's kindness and selflessness will truly be missed by all. A celebration of Helene's life will be planned by her daughter Jennifer for 2021. Mom... my Helene-a-bean... I was yours before I was born. Our bond was destined in the stars. A bond to be envious of... a bond never broken in life or in death. You spoke these words to me from the minute I could hear, and again when I could understand...
