June Hagen Hartje, 75 passed away peacefully on July 3rd, 2021. June was born in Brooklyn, was a long-time resident of Staten Island. She graduated from The College of Staten Island with a Master’s in Education, where she met her loving Husband Alvin, of 55 years. June enjoyed dancing, music, art, teaching and spending time with her family and friends. June will be remembered by her smile, laugh, and kindness, her dedication to children, and her artistic flair. Beloved wife and best friend of Alvin; loving mother of Allison (Joseph) Bilotti, Amanda (Kenneth)Diaz, and Erik (Jennifer) Hartje; dear sister of Susan (Anthony) Bifano; Fond sister-in-law to Robert (Maureen) Hartje; Adored grandmother of Joseph, Jilian, Michael, Jessica, Adryanna, April, Alexis, Erik and James; wonderful aunt and treasured friend. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St Jude Children Research Hospital(http://giftfunds.stjude.org/JuneHartje) or Operation Smile(http://support.operationsmile.org/site/TRpg=personal&fr_id=2576&px=2989168) in June’s name. A New York State decision that those who are vaccinated are no longer required to wear masks. However, our staff who have serviced over 350 covid funeral services safely will wear masks to protect those who have not been vaccinated or those who feel uncertain and our own families. We feel this is necessary because we have handled 8 covid deaths in the month of May and more as of this writing of June 21st.
