Laura Hartell,52 of Cliffwood Beach, NJ; a loving wife and mother, passed away on Monday, August 9 at Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel NJ. She was born in Miami, Florida and grew up in Eltingville, Staten Island as Laura Bouton. A graduate of Tottenville H.S and The N.Y. School of Bartending, she worked at various clubs and bars on S.I. She met her future husband Walter Hartell in 1991, and they married in 1998 and settled in Heartland Village. After having twin daughters, Nikki and Taylor, in 2002, they moved to Cliffwood Beach, N.J. Laura's life centered around her family and her girls were her pride and joy. They loved going on family trips together, especially to the Jersey Shore. She was active in the Cooper School PTA and enjoyed chaperoning school trips and helping with fundraising. She also started her own company, N&T Chocolates, and enjoyed meeting people at the craft fairs she attended. Laura is survived by her husband of 23 years, Walter, her twin daughters Nikki and Taylor(19), her beloved mother Dottie, her brothers Matthew and wife Joy, John and wife Annmarie, her sisters LeeAnn and husband Gustavo, and Lisa along with many nieces and nephews who love her dearly. The family will receive friends from 2:00-5:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm on Saturday August 14th at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island. A New York State decision that those who are vaccinated are no longer required to wear masks. However, our staff who have serviced over 350 covid funeral services safely will wear masks to protect those who have not been vaccinated or those who feel uncertain and our own families. We feel this is necessary because we have handled 8 covid deaths in the month of May and more as of this writing of June 21st. Due to the current pandemic circumstances please note: We ask that you please send bakery products, fruit baskets, and other personal items to the families home directly. Floral Arrangements can be purchased from our in-house floral designers by calling 718-948-2016 to place your order or to request a catalog of selections that can be emailed to you.
